New Jersey

The NJ MVC offers written knowledge tests in English, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), French, Spanish, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Albanian, and Turkish. Oral tests are offered in English and Spanish. The written driver’s manual is available in English, Spanish, Tagalog, and Chinese.

Written knowledge tests
Languages: English, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), French, Spanish, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Albanian, and Turkish.
Note: If your native language is not listed, you can request an interpreter for the test, which the MVC will provide at no cost.

Oral tests
Languages: English and Spanish.

Driver’s manual
Languages: English, Spanish, Tagalog, and Chinese.

Availability: The manual is available online, and you can request it in any of the languages in which written knowledge examinations are offered, though the MVC is only required to provide it on request in these four languages at this time
